Mike Sang

Mike Sang was appointed the Chief Executive for Ngāi Tahu Holdings (NTH) in January 2013. NTH is a direct investment company with a net worth exceeding $1 billion and interests in a range of sectors including Property, Seafood, Tourism, Farming, Buses and Aged Care. NTH takes a long-term view to investing and has a strong focus on running our businesses in line with Ngāi Tahu values.

Prior to this he was Chief Executive Officer for the Office of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu appointed in July 2011 to oversee a review of governance and financial strategy. Mike initially joined Ngāi Tahu as Group General Manager Service Delivery to establish and lead a new group shared services arm, incorporating Communications, Procurement, Business Information Services and Financial Administration along with various general administration functions.

Mike previously worked at PGW Wrightson as the Chief Financial Officer. In 2003 he joined Wrightson as CFO and he was initially involved in the acquisition of North Island competitor Williams and Kettle and subsequent merger with PGG to create New Zealand's largest rural services company. From here, Mike was made CFO PGG Wrightson and headed up the traditional finance and treasury functions and also lead internal audit, strategy and planning and general counsel and company secretary for the expanded group. At various times he was also in charge of IT, program management, procurement and the central financial processing functions.

In his previous role he was Group Manager Finance (CFO) for Airways Corporation and in
2003 the winner of the New Zealand Institute of Management, Young Executive of the Year.
