How can we move to a low-emissions economy?
The Productivity Commission wants to identify how New Zealand can transition towards a low emissions future, while continuing to grow incomes and wellbeing. Professor Will Steffen calls for urgent action now on climate change

Tips and tools to employ young people

The big turnout at the Future Ready Summit reflected the skills shortage New Zealand businesses face and the real concern the business community has for young New Zealanders who aren't in work, education or training. SBC Social Impact Manager, Jody Hamilton, offered some simple advice for businesses, including, "Recruit in groups or pairs if you can, as this often provides a support network for the new employees." Flick wins energy retailer of the year 
Congratulations Flick Electric for being voted Retailer of the Year at last night's Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards. And well done to Vector, Contact Energy and Shell NZ for being finalists in many categories. Click here to see all winners and finalists. 


New benefits for electric vehicle owners
Rule changes will soon see heavy electric vehicles exempt from road user charges and potentially allow drivers of electric vehicles to use bus and high occupancy vehicle lanes. Read Transport Minister Simon Bridges' press release here. It's also 
great to hear the Government’s 2017 electric vehicle (EV) registrations target has been reached five months early. A total of 4,027 EVs are now registered in New Zealand.
