No new oil and gas exploration
The government has announced there will be no further offshore oil and gas exploration permits granted, with the aim of transitioning away from fossil fuels. The decision has had mixed reviews, and comes as the Ministry for the Environment releases NZ's annual report for greenhouse gas emissions, showing gross emissions are down 2.4 per cent on the previous year.
Meridian campaign takes on Norway
Did you know nearly a third of all cars sold in Norway are either fully-electric or hybrid? Norway is the undisputed leader in the adoption of electric vehicles in the world, and Meridian wants to challenge that. It's launched a new campaign encouraging the uptake of EVs. Watch the video here.
Creating a sustainable coffee economy
Nespresso NZ has set up more than 350 recycling collection points for its coffee pods nationwide. They provide a postal recycling service, so customers can return used pods by mail, and their website has an interactive map that allows customers to locate their nearest collection centre.

Sustainable Development Goals summit  
Places for business at the inaugural Sustainable Development Goals Summit in Wellington are almost full! Fresh from speaking in Europe about what Sanford is doing on SDGs, keynote speaker, Lisa Martin (GM Sustainability), will talk about how the SDGs have helped inform their business strategy and will share examples of the work they’re doing. Auckland Bridge's innovative upkeep
WSP Opus has released a video about the Auckland Harbour Bridge and its award-winning asset management programme. It's using more environmentally friendly methods and products, some of which are made locally, to keep the bridge in tiptop condition. Watch here.
Recyclable jet boat reduces fuel use  
Ngāi Tahu Tourism has revealed its new industry-leading sustainable jet boat, which is Shotover Jet's fastest ever design. It's more fuel efficient and has an aluminium shell that is recyclable. 
Cleaning up the community
The Warehouse Group and Neighbourly.co.nz is helping Kiwis clean up their neighbourhoods, with The Great Community Clean Up event. Participants receive a cleaning pack, which includes gloves, rubbish bags, hand sanitiser and a $10 Warehouse Gift Card. Check out TV3's coverage

Bringing together business, government, civil society and tertiary institutions to work on ideas for delivering the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 in NZ. 

When people sign up for the Summit, they will be presented with the opportunity to propose and develop ideas for discussion topics at the Summit's ‘action stations’.
