Toyota NZ's new business model
Toyota NZ is transforming the way it does business as electric, hydrogen and autonomous vehicles take off, changing the way we travel. Toyota Financial services is making moves to become a mobility company, investing in a car sharing software company called Mindkin. The company is also changing the way it sells cars, with fixed national pricing, longer test drives up to 24-hours and an online build-your-own tool, letting buyers customise the specs on their vehicle. 
NZ's first truck conversion workshop opens 
Waste Management has opened NZ's first workshop dedicated to convert diesel trucks into EVs. The company plans to make 20 rubbish trucks electric over the next two years. The first conversion is nearly complete and will be used to collect waste from Auckland Hospital. The workshop is open to other companies, looking to transform their vehicles into EVs. 
Sprucing up with inspiring messages
An OCS cleaner at Addington School in Christchurch has made national news and inspired dozens of children, by leaving heartwarming notes in the classroom. Karen Berry's lovely notes have messages like, "You don't need to grow any taller, you already stand out" and "Everything you need to reach your goals is already in you". Watch the story here
Filling up fast! 
A reminder that the inaugural Sustainable Development Goals Summit in Wellington on April 23 is fast approaching and places are limited. Sign up to hear from Kono's Chief Executive, Rachel Taulelei, as well as Sanford, Vector and more, about their sustainability work and the SDGs. Helen Clark and Climate Change Minister James Shaw will also be making an appearance. 
$20 by 2020 for SKYCITY staff
SKYCITY Entertainment group has made a pledge to raise its minimum wage to $20 an hour by 2020. The '20 by 2020' initiative will boost the pay of nearly half of the company's staff (1,750 people) over the next three years. Chief Executive, Graeme Stephens, says they've been considering the move for 18 months. 
Untangling the threads
Auckland War Memorial Museum has launched a new project to document, photograph and enhance the care of a whopping 2,500 taonga Māori textiles. Some of Aotearoa's most accomplished weavers are helping the team as it works to increase the knowledge of and access to this taonga. Read more
Aeroqual contract with US EPA
Aeroqual and the US Environmental Protection Agency have announced a five year research and development agreement to produce low-cost air quality sensors. The US EPA's Dr Rachelle Duvall says they're, “Looking forward to collaborating with Aeroqual to improve knowledge of air sensor technologies, explore applications, and better understand the challenges of these devices.” 
Christchurch Airport wins on the world stage
Congratulations Christchurch Airport! It's been named one of the world’s best at the World Airport Awards in Stockholm. The awards were decided by 13.83 million air travellers completing a survey in 550 airports around the world.

New Zealand Sustainable Development Goal Summit

Bringing together business, government, civil society and tertiary institutions to work on ideas for delivering the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 in NZ. 

When people sign up for the Summit, they will be presented with the opportunity to propose and develop ideas for discussion topics at the Summit's ‘action stations’.
