Sustainability reporting steps up a notch 
In our latest member review, we noticed the ways that our members report on sustainability are evolving. Alison Herft writes about what good sustainability reporting looks like, and 3R and Contact Energy have shared their experiences of reporting. 
Digital Owl a winner for Fujitsu 
Fujitsu has won the Smart Technology category at the ARN Innovation Awards for their Digital Owl project that uses drones, video analytics and high performance computing to help identify and locate threatened species of plants in NSW bushland. The project was led by Lee Stewart, Fujitsu's Liaison Delegate, who we heard from in the ‘Sustainability & Digital Disruption’ webinar back in June.
Environmental protection in construction
Fletcher Building businesses have won big and small at the Waikato Regional Council awards: Higgins and City Edge Alliance were among the contractors honoured for their work to stop sediment from polluting waterways during construction and in the months and years after.
Partnerships for sustainability
Contact Energy is among the companies that have formed the New Zealand Hydrogen Association, to advance hydrogen energy as a low emission fuel source in New Zealand. And the Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency and thinkstep Australasia will work together to help spread regenerative design through Cradle to Cradle principles.
Downer achieves gold standard 
Downer's Sydney Growth Trains have received an Environmental Product Declaration, an independently verified public declaration of environmental performance of the product for all or parts of the life cycle, and a significant achievement.
