Support for the Zero Carbon Bill 
Today CEOs from Christchurch Airport, Meridian Energy and Thankyou Payroll went along to the Environment Select Committee to speak to the Climate Leaders Coalition submission on the Zero Carbon Bill. Watch the video here (from approx 1h33). And the SBC submission is also available online. 
Thinking beyond profit and 'business as usual' 
Two interesting reads this week, as The Spinoff talks to Alistair Davis, SBC Advisory Board Chair and CEO of Toyota NZ, Marc England of Genesis, and Mike Bennetts from Z Energy about the crisis in capitalism. And Rob Campbell, Chair of SkyCity and thl, among others, talks about the need for new types of business leadership over on Newsroom
What next for process heat?  
Transpower has launched its latest discussion paper Taking the Climate Heat out of Process Heat, looking at the opportunities and challenges of replacing fossil fuels with renewable electricity for process heat and what this means for the energy sector. 
Sustainable procurement picking up pace 
New government procurement rules will come into force on 1 October. They will require agencies to incorporate or consider certain priority outcomes in their procurement decisions, including reducing emissions and waste. Some agencies are already moving ahead with these principles - for example Christchurch City Council has launched its Sustainable Procurement Programme, see GETS for details
Ethics for directors - because you're worth it 
Emmanuel Lulin, Chief Ethics Officer of L'Oreal, proposes key questions every director should answer to test their culture.
Plastic-Free July - it's a wrap!
A beeswax wrap, of course... this week Jay Crangle, our Events and Training Manager gives Enviro-Mark Solutions her perspective on trying to go plastic-free. And the Warehouse tells Stuff large-scale, industry-wide action is needed to address plastic waste, and it's up to businesses to make it happen. 
Elections for Advisory Board + Liaison Delegate representative
Voting for positions on the SBC Advisory Board will run until 5 August, and the results will be announced at SBC's Annual Council Meeting on 21 August. Details have been sent out via email.
