An electric way to get your groceries
Countdown has hit the road with five refrigerated electric trucks in Auckland, which will deliver online shopping to customers and eliminate approximately 135,000 kg of CO2 emissions each year. In the next few months, Countdown will roll out another four electric delivery trucks in Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Keep an eye out.
Suncorp NZ's net-zero emissions target
Suncorp NZ has announced it is working towards net-zero emissions by 2050, and a 52% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. The company has also became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, a framework for sustainable business practice in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
Genesis drives into electricity mobility business
Genesis has made a strategic investment in Yoogo Share, an EV car sharing company helping businesses and individuals reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Genesis says its partnership with Yoogo Share will enable, "a solution to help our customers further reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions.”
Embed: Strategies to influence climate action
Following last month's EMBARK conference, SBC is organising an inspirational session that'll help you bring about climate action in your business. It's called Embed: Engaging your people on climate action. Embed will discuss ways to identify and understand your audience, and workshop strategic influencing tools that you can use in your business. 
Sustainability leadership in a changing world
SBC is launching its 2020 Sustainability Leaders Programme, called Sustainability leadership in a changing world. Issues like climate change, biodiversity loss and the future of work are shaping up to be some of the greatest opportunities and challenges for business in our lifetime. The programme is delivered in partnership with Catapult and will help develop the critical skills and thinking that businesses need to navigate these complex issues. Applications are open until 30 October. 
SBC members dominate Deloitte Energy Awards
Congratulations to our members who took home multiple gongs at the Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards. Genesis won the community initiative and energy technology awards. Meridian won the low carbon future award. And Contact won the innovation award.  
Changes on the SBC Advisory Board 
SBC has a number of new faces on its advisory board.  Welcome Gerri Ward (Z Energy) and Claire Walker (SkyCity). We love your mahi and look forward to working with you! Our new Chair is Westpac's Karen Silk who is taking over from Alistair Davis (Toyota). Meanwhile, two long-serving board members have stepped down -  Mike Cronin (Fonterra) and Malcolm Rands (Ecostore/Fairground Foundation). Thank you both for your wise counsel and leadership.
