NZ business achievements on the global stage

End-of-life EV batteries could power homes and businesses 
In collaboration with Relectrify, an Australian battery control technology growth firm, Vector is running a trial testing the capability of EV batteries to be converted into electricity storage batteries. 
Plastics-Free July update
Enviro-Mark Solutions have published an opinion piece from ecostore's Pablo Kraus, on whether a plastic ban is the right fix. Fonterra are stepping up their efforts to help tackle waste. And Government has announced the Provincial Growth Fund will invest in projects to tackle waste in New Zealand. 
Developing New Zealand's first sustainable road
In 2016, the WSP Opus research team were challenged by the Tūhoe Trust to develop an environmentally-friendly and sustainable road resurfacing alternative for an unsealed road that runs straight through Te Urewera's prized forests. This is a pretty special story
Downer and Spotless - extreme stream clean
The Downer and Spotless teams in Auckland are so passionate about the environment, they spent a day removing more garbage from the two-kilometre Puhinui Stream. Check out the video and read more. Great teamwork!

Diversity Works have just released the Workplace Diversity Case Model. This gives organisations the evidence they need to talk confidently about why diversity and inclusion works, so that they can get on with making it happen.
Have your say on the Zero Carbon Bill 
Submissions on the Zero Carbon Bill are open until 16 July. SBC is preparing a submission on behalf of members and the Climate Leaders Coalition will also be making a high-level submission. We also encourage individual members to make their own submissions on the points most relevant to them. 
Elections for Advisory Board + Liaison Delegate representative
It's SBC election time! We are calling for nominations from Council Members for one of four positions on the SBC Advisory Board, by 15 July. This year we are also looking for a Liaison Delegate representative. Voting will run 22 July-5 August, and the results will be announced at SBC's Annual Council Meeting on 21 August. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further details.
