World Fairtrade Day on the horizon
To mark World Fair Trade Day in 2019, SBC members who want to Make the Switch to Fairtrade can try an exclusive product pack. Fairtrade ANZ’s CEO Molly Harriss Olson talks about Fairtrade’s work to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and how your business can help to change lives by making the switch.

LNG can lower emissions for shipping
A new report from thinkstep has found that using liquefied natural gas as a fuel for shipping can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 21%, compared with conventional oil-based fuels over the entire life-cycle.
More social impact capability for EY
EY have expanded their Climate Change and Sustainability Services with the acquisition of Karrikins Group, who provide community investment, behaviour change and education strategies and solutions for corporations, government agencies and non-profits.
NZ-specific emissions guidance updated 
The Ministry for the Environment has published updated guidance this week to help organisations calculate their emissions. It contains the latest emissions factors and information for New Zealand, and covers more areas including agriculture, construction materials and forestry.
Glass Packaging Forum May funding round open
If you have a project which will increase the quality and quantity of glass available for recycling, but need help making it happen, apply for funding from the Glass Packaging Forum before 31 May. Projects for alternative outcomes for container glass that can't be returned to the furnace can also be submitted. 
Updating Vision 2050
In 2010 the World Business Council for Sustainable Development launched Vision 2050 - an ambitious study mapping the transformative changes necessary to allow over 9 billion people to live well, within the boundaries of the planet by mid-century. Now they are updating Vision 2050 with the latest information.

The Grow 2019 conference, held in Christchurch in April, was a conference meant to get farmers and exporters thinking. P
resentations painted a picture of how a technological convergence – and social transformation – will impact on current farming and food supply.
