Going fishing, sustainably
A new Precision Seafood Harvesting (PSH) fishing technology has been given the green light for use in North Island inshore fisheries. Moana New Zealand and Sanford worked on the trials of the Modular Harvest System which will now be rolled out across their fleets.

Congratulations to SKYCITY Auckland and Otago Polytech for being recognised at the Rainbow Excellence Awards last week, and to the Auckland War Memorial Museum for winning the 2019 Westpac Supreme Award. Allan Lennie, Fletcher Building received the 2019 Rainbow Tick Ambassadorship Award. 
Bright sparks
To enable more Kiwi kids to become future inventors and innovators, the Genesis School-gen Trust has announced that six schools will receive STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) equipment packages and one school a solar equipment package from its initial pool of $50,000.

Massey University have launched the Shared Prosperity Index, which calculates wellbeing and social progress through measuring how well, or poorly, different segments of society have benefited from New Zealand's growing economy. 
Ask a mate for help with energy
Energy poverty affects nearly 100,000 households in New Zealand. Vector as well as Genesis Energy, Meridian, Mercury and Contact, are supporting EnergyMate, an industry-funded trial to help the lowest income households lower their power bills. Kate Beddoe from Vector has more.
