1/3 of NZ waste paper is recycled here
Oji Fibre Solutions is the largest recycler of paper in NZ, and its Fullcircle business arm collects more than 250,000 tonnes from businesses and kerbsides each year. About 70% is reprocessed into paper products at its Penrose and Kinleith Mills. Philip Millichamp, GM Environment & External Relations talked to Radio New Zealand about why the recycling industry in NZ needs to change and how Oji is leading the charge.
All about waste
In other waste management news, 3R Group reports the Government is consulting on whether tyres, e-waste, farm plastic, agrichemicals and their containers, refrigerants and other synthetic greenhouse gases, and packaging should be given priority for product stewardship schemes. And the Waste Minimisation Fund will support a new community recycling centre for Onehunga, to become part of Auckland Council’s Resource Recovery Network
