Alice Andrew

Alice is a co-founder and Director of New Zealand owned Environmental and Planning Consultancy, 4Sight. She oversees the company's climate change and sustainability initiatives, Marketing, and Environmental Services team, and is the Maori Sector Lead.

As an Environmental Engineer, Alice consults on environmental management matters for local government, iwi and private clients. Her passion lies with working alongside iwi to protect the environment and freshwater quality.

A huge proponent for sustainability, Alice has spoken on key issues at several major events, such as the Massey University College of Sciences and Maori Capping Ceremonies, and the ‘Imagining Decolonised Cities’ Symposium. She champions and has presented on Vision 2050 a Sustainable Business Council initiative to transform New Zealand business and create a more sustainable New Zealand by 2050 and is involved in promoting Science and Technology in schools through a number of initiatives. She is also on the Tamaki Komiti for Papa Pounamu, whose role is to focus on the integration of Māori perspectives in resource management planning and decision-making.

Alice holds several governance positions. In addition to 4Sight she is also Chair of the Tread Lightly Trust (a not for profit inspiring New Zealanders to live sustainably), she is an Advisory Member on the Massey University Sustainable Processing Cluster (improving the Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering Major by providing linkage to business and industry), and the Advisory Board of the SfTI Clean Water Tech Research Programme (Kia Kotahi Mai: Te Ao Pūtaiao me Te Ao Hangarau, a 10-year science investment till 2024 tackling New Zealand’s high-tech challenges to grow our economy and prosperity through physical sciences and engineering).

Alice grew up in Gisborne and Wellington and now lives in Auckland. No Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Koata, me Ngāi Tahu. Ki te taha o tōku pāpā kō Ngāti Ranginui te iwi.
