Sustainability Leadership Programme goes virtual

The world has changed dramatically since we designed SLP 2020 and gives rise to questions such as

  • How can we address critical sustainability challenges during the response to COVID-19 and the ensuing economic recession?
  • How can we use this as a time to reset and ‘bake in’ sustainability thinking into core business?

While these are challenging times, the message from our members has been clear - continue to do what you do best to support us – just adapt it to the circumstances.  We also believe this is a great opportunity to make progress on sustainability challenges.

We are excited to announce that this years’ Sustainability Leadership Programme 2020 will be online.  Over the last two weeks, SBC and our programme partners Catapult, have adapted the programme to ensure SLP 2020 will be a highly interactive online experience using Zoom Meetings.

The programme will now be delivered via ten weekly, two-hour online workshops between 6 May and 8 June.  We are delighted that 35 senior leaders from across SBC members, BusinessNZ network and the wider business community will be joining us. Now that is adaptive leadership in practice.

I would like to say a big thank you to our partners - Catapult for their fantastic leadership and support as well our SLP 2020 participants. So, stay tuned as we will be sharing insights, updates and learning from the programme over the coming weeks.

SBC's 2020 professional development programme, called Sustainability Leadership in a Changing World, is open for applications.

In a significant development in SBC’s partnership with Catapult, the 2020 programme is open to non-SBC members as well as SBC members. This presents a significant opportunity for key stakeholders to work together to make progress on real sustainability challenges. The programme aims to give participants and their organisations new skills and thinking that will help them navigate complex environmental and social issues, like climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Future of Work.

There is a discounted rate for SBC members and an early bird rate which ends 31 October 2019.

Registrations are being managed by Catapult.
