Conscious Kiwi consumers on the rise
This year's Colmar Brunton Better Futures report offers some fascinating insights into the rise of the conscious Kiwi consumer. Thirty percent of respondents now say they are "highly committed" to a sustainable lifestyle, and perhaps the greatest surprise is that low income earners, as well as women and over-60s, are driving that change. Check out Fairfax's and TVNZ's coverage. Next week we'll have a video of the launch event and a blog.
Trust in "experts" bouncing back
The Edelman Trust Barometer has been measuring public trust in government, business, NGO and media institutions around the world for 18 years. And trust in "expert" commentators, such as directors, CEOs, government officials and journalists, is bouncing back.
Global Risks Report 2018
Extreme weather events and a failure to mitigate climate change are some of the most likely threats to the world, according to the World Economic Forum's 2018 Global Risk Report. Time Magazine reports even though weapons of mass destruction are considered the most impactful threat, "they were ranked as less likely to occur than extreme weather events, food and water crises, large-scale involuntary migration, or ecosystem collapse".

Ecostore's founder, Malcolm Rands, talks about the Fairground Foundation's eco-village project in Auckland called Bumpspace. And AECOM's work with the Wellington City Council to prepare for disasters also features.
