Final report: Low-emissions economy  
The Productivity Commission has published the final Low-Emissions Economy report, looking at how New Zealand can reduce its domestic greenhouse gas emissions and continue to grow incomes and wellbeing. Our members are ambitious for action on climate change - see our submissions on the Issues Paper and Draft Report, and support from 4SightToyota and Z Energy in the #climateleaderscoalition. 
Technology key for energy resilience  
Vector has released a paper ‘Working Together on Resilience’, which looks at how climate-change models are predicting more frequent extreme weather events, and how this will impact energy resilience across New Zealand’s energy supply chain. 
Switching up youth recruitment 
Fletcher Building's innovative online recruiting platform "Switch Up" has won the Tomorrow’s Workforce Award at the 2018 Diversity Awards NZ. The platform helps school leavers and people transitioning from unemployment into the workforce.  
New member profile: Agrecovery
Agrecovery promote and enable sound waste management practices and product stewardship for the primary sector. They currently implement a product stewardship scheme for the crop protection, dairy hygiene and vet medicine industries. Agrecovery is also actively looking at ways to address further inorganic waste and recycling issues for the primary industries through product stewardship. 
Survey of business sentiment
EMA, BusinessNZ and the NZ Herald invite our readers to take part in the Mood of the Boardroom survey - taking the pulse of business sentiment among business owners and operators in NZ. The survey closes on 21 September and results will be published in the NZ Herald on 3 October. 
Energy TS try their hand at tree-planting 
Great to see our members getting hands-on with carbon sequestration and improving the environment - volunteering at the Makara Peak mountain bike park and recreation area in Karori, Wellington. Do send us your volunteering stories, we'd love to hear them. 
Top of the Glass
Did you know that using recycled glass to make new glass bottles and jars means furnaces can run at lower temperatures, reducing carbon emissions? This video from the Glass Packaging Forum looks at the full circle of glass bottle and jar recycling.
