Deloitte Top 200 awards
Congratulations to all SBC members who were winners or finalists in the Deloitte Top 200 awards last week, notably Fraser Whineray, CEO, Mercury being recognised as Chief Executive of the Year, Air New Zealand for Sustainable Business Leadership and Downer Group for Diversity and Inclusion Leadership. 
Climate Leaders Coalition at COP25
David Benattar of The Warehouse Group, Dr Ann Smith of Toitū Envirocare and David Tong of WWF New Zealand are representing the Climate Leaders Coalition in Madrid as part of the New Zealand Delegation to COP25. Mark Baker-Jones from Simpson Grierson is reporting back regularly: Day One | Day Two.

Online help to escape domestic violence
The Suncorp New Zealand, Vero and Asteron Life websites are now part of the Woman’s Refuge Shielded Site initiative aimed at helping people experiencing domestic violence safely gain support. Visitors to a participating site can click on the Shielded Site icon to access help and information - without those pages appearing in their browser history. 
Last chance to enter ARA
Entries for the 2020 Australasian Reporting Awards close on Monday 16 December. Entering will give you an independent assessment of how well your annual report meets the information needs of your stakeholders, and will also let you benchmark the quality of your report against world best practice and your peers. Last year, Sanford took home the Supreme Award. 
More climate progress
The Ākina Foundation are now officially climate positive - it has measured and offset 120% of its emissions working with Ekos. Read more about the journey to get there. And Auckland Council has announced proposals to cut emissions by 20%. 
Climate action in the Hawke's Bay
3R Group organised a recent Climate Action HB: Business CoLab event, which saw over 100 people from the region’s businesses and councils come together to chart the way forward for Hawke’s Bay to transition to a low-emissions economy. 
Lovely weather for penguins
Recently, the Carbon EMS team took the ferry to Matiu Somes Island to do some volunteer work with Conservation Volunteers, as part of their support programme for little blue penguins.
