Global recognition for Vodafone NZ policy
In an impressive example of a New Zealand company leading the way for its global parent, the Vodafone Group has announced it will be implementing a new programme for victims of domestic violence and abuse in 25 countries, covered by Forbes and inspired by a policy developed by Vodafone New Zealand in 2017.
Human Resources Institute NZ Awards 
Congratulations to SBC members who were recognised at the Human Resources Institute NZ Awards last week: AUT, BNZ, DownerNZ, Fonterra, Massey University, and Vodafone NZ, and Meridian Energy taking home the Diversity & Inclusion Award. 
Are you ready for Earth Hour? 
Earth Hour is happening on Saturday 30 March at 8.30pm local time. If your organisation wants to show support or get involved, this toolkit for businesses includes social media tiles and GIFs, advice on how to execute a lights out, and of course carry on sustainable activities beyond Earth Hour.
EPDs gain traction

Science communicator celebrated
Congratulations to Professor James Renwick of VIctoria University for receiving the 2018 Prime Minister's Science Communication Prize for his outstanding communication about the science behind our changing climate and how it will affect the future. Professor Renwick, on Twitter as CubaRaglanGuy, will use the funds to build collaborations on climate change between artists and scientists, and strengthen links with tangata whenua.

And congratulations to Stuff - one of 13 global winners of the Kodak Sonora Plate Green Leaf Awards for their two print plants in Petone and Christchurch, recognising what the team led by Ricky Baker, Stuff’s National Print Manager, has achieved to reduce carbon emissions and waste output.

Zayed Sustainability Prize
Applications are now open for the 2020 Zayed Sustainability Prize, recognising organisations that demonstrate innovative, impactful and inspirational solutions in the areas of sustainable health, energy, water and food. Previous winners include Cashmere High School in Christchurch.
