Climate risk and the role of CFOs
In our latest podcast, we talk to Mike Roan, Chief Financial Officer for Meridian Energy, about why sustainability is important for the role of CFOs, and why Meridian has become the first company in New Zealand to report using the TCFD Framework. SkyCity switches off lights to go carbon neutral
SkyCity's three New Zealand locations have been certified carbon-neutral by Enviro-Mark Solutions. As part of the action to reduce emissions, the Sky Tower lights will go off for two months while the bulbs are switched to LED bulbs. 
Message in a bottle
Ecostore is the first company in NZ to sell a product in a bottle made up of 100% ocean waste plastic. Ecostore has partnered with Pack Tech to make 20,000 reusable bottles out of half-a-tonne of plastic retrieved from the ocean. Timely as the Ministry for the Environment releases a new report on Our Marine Environment.  
Ecolabels have an impact
To mark World Ecolabel Day, Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ) has released an international study by the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN). The study found that by using ECNZ-verified sanitary, paint and cleaning products, consumers can significantly reduce their environmental impact and annual emissions.
Boarding, Will Robinson
Christchurch Airport has added robot Pepper to its study of disruptive technologies, alongside the Autonomous Smart Shuttle and Virtual Reality training for its fire service. HIT Lab NZ is exploring Pepper's capabilities and programming the humanoid robot to interact most effectively with visitors at the airport.
