Our very own Woman of Influence
Abbie Reynolds was recognised for her outstanding leadership in sustainability last week, winning the Board & Management category of the Stuff/Westpac Women of Influence awards. In her own words, women's leadership at its best is a "win, win" for everyone. "[It's] about a lack of ego. We do the mahi because it needs to be done, not because we seek recognition." 
Pushing at open doors

Climate change a discrete – and foreseeable - financial risk to business
The Aotearoa Circle calls for leadership, better data, and to better integrate environmental and social impacts into the financial system, in an interim report on sustainable finance out today. The report is accompanied by a legal opinion written by Chapman Tripp, and has received extensive coverage in the NBR (paywalled) and an NZ Herald Special Report.  
Talking about climate change 
The Workshop and Oxfam NZ have released a climate change cheat sheet, supported by Meridian to help communicators talk effectively about climate action. The cheat sheet draws on research commissioned by Oxfam New Zealand on what motivates people to take collective action on evidence-informed solutions.
New wind farm for Tararua Ranges  
Mercury have started construction on the first 33 of 60 consented wind turbines at the Turitea wind farm, which will start sending power to the national grid by the end of 2020. Watch the flythrough.  
NZ businesses gain global recognition 
Auckland Airport, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Meridian Energy have all been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Asia Pacific, in recognition of their leadership in sustainability. It’s the eighth consecutive year Auckland Airport has been included in the DJSI Asia Pacific, and it was the first NZ company to feature on the Index in 2012.
