Working together in our bubbles
Here at SBC, we've been working remotely for quite some time. But it’s different when new ways of working are ‘must do’ rather than ‘personal choice’ while juggling the demands of family and living in our bubbles. Rob Perry looks at how we can cope

COVID-19: Virtual drop-in sessions
Starting on Thursday 9 April, join your fellow SBC members at one of our virtual drop-in sessions (12 – 12:45pm) to exchange ideas and challenges relating to sustainability during the current crisis. We invite you to share how COVID-19 is impacting your programme of work, and any good practice you’ve seen that might help others. Our first session will be a pilot; we’ll look to hold more if there is interest. RSVP for the link
Clean hands, warm hearts
SBC members are teaming up to help bust the hand sanitiser shortage. Fonterra is making more high-grade ethanol available to companies who use it to produce sanitiser products. And O-I is supporting Good George Brewery with glass bottles for the hand sanitiser it is manufacturing.
Quick action on devices
With schools closed across New Zealand due to the Covid-19 lockdown, Genesis School-gen Trust partnered with the Manaiakalani Education Trust to provide 200 Chromebooks to kids in need this week. Knowing how important it will be to keep learning going during the lockdown period, they distributed the Chromebooks to students who would otherwise be without a device during this time.

See you online!
We are exploring new virtual ways of connecting with our members. We recently held an interactive online workshop for over 70 of our members on reducing emissions in the supply chain.
