More on SBC and Covid-19
Members helping New Zealand during Covid-19
Suncorp New Zealand is helping children affected by domestic violence stay connected with their schools and online learning through a one-off donation of $100,000 to the domestic violence charity, Shine. And WSP supported the Helen Clark Foundation to look into the impact COVID-19 is having on loneliness in New Zealand. Share your stories with us
Post Covid-19: Business as unusual
We won’t be reverting to 'business as usual' because it doesn’t exist, was just one insight from Robert Perry’s webinar last week with Diane Edwards (POAL). Rob shares her insights from the Ports’ leadership on the Future of Work to shed light on how best to adapt our workplaces and ways of working as we move from Alert Level 4 into the recovery room and beyond.
Time to get your business FutureFit?
As we move back to work, it’s a good time to think about putting new habits in place rather than going back to old patterns. FutureFit in Business, supported by Auckland Council and EECA, is a climate action package for businesses, to help you engage and support your people to build resilience while also reducing emissions.
In our skies and in our hearts
Covid-19 has had an impact on many of our members, but none more so than Air New Zealand, which was set to celebrate 80 years of flying in April. The hard work the team has put into building its reputation paid off - recently named the most reputable brand across Australia and New Zealand. Of the top 10 trusted brands in New Zealand, 6 others are SBC members. Kia kaha.
Wellbeing of business owners during Covid-19
Can you spare 25 minutes to provide insight on how Covid-19 is impacting your business and your well-being? The University of Waikato is looking for NZ small business owners to participate in a survey as part of a global study on coping during the pandemic. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Complete the survey.
Sustainable infrastructure in the pipeline
SBC members responded to the call for “shovel ready” infrastructure projects by the Recovery Ministers, Phil Twyford and Shane Jones. Sustainability was front and centre in the BusinessNZ submission now online.
Update on SBC’s Strategy Refresh
Thank you to those of you who contributed to the recent survey to shape SBC’s new strategy. We’ll be feeding back these results and the other insights we’ve gathered so far at a series of virtual workshops in May. Invitations to these workshops will be sent out next week, along with an invite to one of our optional 15 minute drop in strategy sessions.
WBCSD resources for business
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development publishes selected webinars that may be of interest to SBC members, as well as recent sessions from their virtual event series: Business as unusual
At the frontier of boosting productivity
The Productivity Commission is looking at what businesses can learn about innovation from so-called "frontier firms", and has just released an issues paper outlining the information it is looking for. All NZ businesses can play a role in this inquiry.
