New wheels for electric eels
Sanford has just launched a new all-electric van for transporting seafood around Auckland, with support from the EECA Low Emission Vehicles Contestable Fund. The van has both an electric engine and an electric chiller, giving it the lowest carbon footprint possible.
Kiss off or offset for oil
As part of their overall climate work, Z Energy has introduced carbon offsetting for motorists when they fuel up, at a Z station or anywhere else. And Mercury has launched a cheeky campaign encouraging motorists to kiss goodbye to oil altogether. 
Committed to 100% better packaging
Zespri has recently launched its sustainability commitments, including being carbon positive by 2035, and moving to 100 percent recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging by 2025.  
2020 Diversity Awards now open
Many SBC members were represented among the 2019 Diversity Award NZ winners, including Vector taking out the Supreme Award. Entries are now open for 2020, in an expanded range of categories. And Vector will be speaking about their D&I programmes in Christchurch and Wellington in March and April.

Got a glass recycling project in mind?
Don't forget applications are open until 29 February for the latest round of funding from the Glass Packaging Forum. Funding can go towards infrastructure such as bins or trailers, training for staff or support for events, and research.
