Welcome to 2020! We hope you had a restful holiday break. To start the year on a good note, here are 99 good news stories that you might not have heard about in 2019 - although #88 will be familiar to you all. 
How your staff could help cut business emissions
We see an increasing number of our members working with their employees to find new and innovative ways to reduce emissions not only in the business but also at home. Kate Ferguson, our Climate and Resources Manager looks at some of the initiatives underway in this article published in Human Resources magazine. 
Science-Based Target for Fletchers
Fletcher Building is the first building materials and construction company in New Zealand or Australia to set a Science-Based Target for carbon reduction, committing to reduce direct and indirect emissions by 30% by 2030 from its 2018 baseline year. With assistance from Toitū Envirocare, the target has now been verified by the Science Based Targets initiative
How retailers can lead the way on sustainability 
Our In Good Company research with Porter Novelli and Perceptive showed sustainability is a top concern for New Zealanders when choosing a large retailer to shop with. Countdown and The Warehouse Group talked to The Register about how they're taking action.  
Walking the walk on EVs 
Sarah Holden of Oxygen Consulting spoke to EVTalk about her experiences driving an electric vehicle - including how it helps her give clients practical advice about shifting their fleet to electric.
Vision 2050: What next?  
In 2010, WBCSD launched Vision 2050, encouraging businesses to look ahead further when thinking about their impact. In 2020, this collective vision is being refreshed in line with the social, economic and political shifts of the last decade. Watch the video.  
Training New Zealand's workforce 
The latest report from the Productivity Commission's Future of Work inquiry looks at what is needed to train New Zealand's workforce, including widening access to work-based education and training, reducing barriers to credentials, and making it easier to move money around the system. Submissions are invited by 17 February. 
Earth Hour: Call for business support 
On 28 March, New Zealanders will join millions across the world to celebrate Earth Hour and demonstrate their commitment to the environment. WWF New Zealand is seeking businesses and organisations who want to show their support.
