Insights from COP25
Last December The Warehouse Group attended COP25 in Madrid as part of a New Zealand business delegation and to represent the Climate Leaders Coalition. David Benattar has shared this paper bringing together his insights from Madrid that can inform stronger climate action locally and globally.
Whakawhanaungatanga and sustainability
For Māori, ecosystems are crucial in upholding their taonga, traditions, health and well-being. A six-year collaborative research programme, ‘Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Management’ (BEST), led by Manaaki Whenua, worked with tangata whenua to underpin local decisions about landuse. 
A final message from Sir Rob Fenwick
Our hearts are full reading this, from SBC founding member and Emeritus Chair Sir Rob Fenwick. In the words of Climate Change Minister James Shaw, "Sir Rob is one of NZ's greatest environmentalists, and one of the most decent, brilliant and humble people I am privileged to know. The next generation are Growing for Good
Countdown has unveiled its second round of Growing for Good grant winners across schools and early childhood centres. Vegetable gardens, Maori medicinal plants along with bees, skinks and chickens will all flourish under this scheme to encourage the next generation of environmental champions.  
March is Whio Awareness Month
In the nine years that Genesis and DOC have been working together to help this endangered duck, the number of protected breeding pairs of whio has doubled. The Whio Forever website has different competitions and activities to raise awareness of whio and to get people involved in local predator control efforts, or watch the short video
Diversity in the workplace survey
Diversity Works New Zealand, in conjunction with Massey University, is asking Kiwi organisations to have their say on the most pressing diversity issues in the workplace. Contribute to the annual New Zealand Workplace Diversity Survey by tomorrow, 6 March. 
Is your board up to date on sustainability?
This new report from WBCSD outlines seven recommendations for modernising corporate governance to build future foresight and business resilience. It goes nicely with our New Zealand-specific guidance on how to create shared and sustained value from good governance.  
What's it like to work in sustainability?
We have had nearly 100 responses to this survey on the role of the sustainability professional in New Zealand. Have you had your say about what makes your job easier or harder, how your role has changed over time, or what's next for the profession? The survey by Oxygen Consulting, in conjunction with SBC, SBN and AUT, closes on 15 March.
