Work with us: Five job roles now available

19 Nov 2020
Sustainable Business Council and Climate Leaders Coalition

It's an exciting time for SBC and the Climate Leaders Coalition. We have created a number of new roles to help roll out our revamped strategies, including an expanded Climate team, and a new Communications role.

We also have a couple of changes to our close-knit team - Kate Ferguson is heading off on maternity leave soon, to return in December 2021, and Deb Bougen is moving roles within BusinessNZ early next year to focus on supporting the BusinessNZ Energy Council and Export NZ.

So if you have skills (or know anyone who does) in climate leadership, communications or keeping a team running smoothly, apply by 30 November.

The roles are:

About the Climate Unit

SBC and CLC members have viewed climate change as their top sustainability priority for the last 5 years.

They understand the need to work together and provide a collective voice on what’s needed to accelerate our transition. SBC’s role is to support them to do that.

Their strong focus on ambitious targets and demonstrated emissions reduction has been instrumental in bringing about changes to legislative and institutional frameworks to make real progress on climate change.

2021 will be a critical year for Aotearoa/New Zealand as the Climate Change Commission delivers its first suite of carbon budgets and the Government responds with an Emissions Reduction Plan.

In preparation for this SBC and CLC are establishing a joint Climate Unit to deliver on the climate action pillar of their combined strategies.

The unit will be led by a Head of Climate Action, a new senior-level role, and be supported by the Manager Climate Action and Adviser Climate Action roles.
