Renewable energy park for Chch | Christchurch Airport has announced it will use 400 hectares of land to generate renewable energy. Stage one will deliver a 220-hectare solar array able to generate 150 megawatts – enough for 30,000 homes, or about 20% of Christchurch’s current residential electricity use.

Making EV charging smoother | Genesis Energy is working with Christchurch-based company Evnex to trial new EV smart charging technology. Evnex’s smart charger can safely reduce overnight charging to a few hours and communicate with the grid to smooth demand. The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited won the Public sector and non-listed category, and Transpower New Zealand the Newcomer category, in the CPA Australia Integrated Reporting Awards New Zealand.
