| Countdown's greenest store ever | Countdown has opened the doors to its new environmentally-friendly store, the first supermarket in New Zealand to be accredited by internationally recognised rating system Green Star. Located in Nelson, the store was constructed using recycled demolition waste, achieving an 86% reduction in construction waste to landfill. The Nelson store is the first to use a raft of new systems to reduce carbon emissions, making it their "greenest store ever." | | | |
