10% of Stuff gifted to staff

Sinead Boucher has taken valuing her staff's contribution to a new level - the Stuff owner has gifted 10% of Stuff to its staff. It means staff would receive a share of any dividends Stuff pays out, and 10% of the sale proceeds if Stuff was later sold or listed. Kā pai Sinead for this bold move.

Vector's smart EV trial results

Vector has released results halfway through their 200 person, Auckland-based smart EV charging trial (see p17), showing that smart charging and intelligent load management can enable EV uptake, with 90% of owners charging at home.

Protecting Papakura Stream 

Mondelēz New Zealand and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand have partnered to announce a multi-year project aimed at restoring and protecting the Papakura Stream in South Auckland. They've already started planting their goal of 12,500 trees and installing nearly 400 metres of Future Posts fencing, which is made from recycled soft plastics.

SBC members win big at PRINZ Awards

Congratulations are in order for SBC and CLC members who were at the annual PRINZ Awards 2021. Wright Communications took home the 'BusinessDesk PR Consultancy of the Year' award for the second year in a row, and the winners and finalists list reads like a 'who's who' of innovative companies: Fonterra, Countdown, Mondelēz New Zealand, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, The Warehouse Group, Vodafone New Zealand, Contact Energy, Westpac New Zealand, Watercare Services Ltd, Auckland Transport, Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, ASB Bank, Anthem and Chapman Tripp.

Choosing the ‘why’ in sustainability performance measurement

A great post from Aurecon on achieving true sustainability leadership by avoiding a checklist mentality. "Achieving effective sustainability performance management requires a desire to leave a legacy for future projects. Focusing on the ‘why’ of sustainability is one way to keep the big picture in mind."
