Video update from Mike Burrell - 19 August 19 Aug 2021 Source: Sustainable Business Council Video update 19 AugustTranscript Following the announcement of the move to Alert Level Four, I wanted to send a quick message to you to say that we're thinking of you at this very difficult time. I think we can all agree that a short sharp lockdown is the way to go, but it's not going to be easy.We are conscious everyone will be very busy for the next week or so, so we're going to limit our emails and events until we're back to a lower alert level. In the meantime, we'll continue to use Pānui as our main communication channel and I really want to thank CJ and her colleagues at the Comms Co-op for helping us out while we await the arrival of our new comms manager next month. If you have any questions or ideas for things you think we should be doing at this time, please do get in contact with me directly or the Comms team through the usual email. As you will have heard, very sadly the SBC Annual Council Meeting and the CLC third anniversary event that were scheduled for this week have both been postponed to a future date. One thing we have realised over the past year is just how important it is to be in the same room together when circumstances allow, so we are keen to bring the SBC whānau together at the earliest opportunity. We'll be in contact about alternative arrangements once we have more information. In the meantime, it is my great pleasure to announce the outcome of the recent SBC Advisory Board elections. It was a very closely contested election, and I want to thank all of those who put their names forward for the Advisory Board positions. David Morgan from Air New Zealand, David Benattar from The Warehouse Group, and Gareth Marriott from OCS have all been re-elected. They will be joined by Dean Fraser from Ngāi Tahu, who has been newly elected to the board for the years on delegate representative position Gerri Ward from EY has been re-elected.Congratulations everyone, and once again thank you to all those who participated. In this edition of Pānui, you will see that we've also included a link to the new SBC Annual Snapshot for you to have a read of. Please do look after yourselves and each other over the next week, and I look forward to seeing you all in person soon. Mā te wā.
