Kia ora koutou. First of all we're thinking of all of our members, especially those of you are in Auckland with the news that level four will continue for at least another two weeks.

For those of us at level three, that still has its own challenges but at least we've got takeaways.

We know it's hard to keep doing the great work you do at this time and we're really hoping you're prioritizing your own well-being.

And we'd like to give a special shout out to our members with frontline staff and those who are providing essential services such as groceries, transport, and freight, keeping the lights on and so forth. In our view you're all essential services, but we know that some jobs can't be done from home. Thank you.

We know that the government will release the Emissions Reduction Plan soon and the latest lockdown may affect the time frame for feedback.

We are preparing an accelerated consultation process with members and we'll have an update for you shortly. We're hopeful that it will still be the full six weeks but it may be a little shorter than that. We realize this will add more work at a stressful time, but we also know that climate action can't wait for lockdown to be over and we will be sending a message to government to keep moving on this essential work.

Speaking of which, we have a new survey for Chief Financial Officers out this week from Deloitte and  to find out how they see their role engaging on issues such as climate risk. The link will be in Pānui and please do make sure that any CFOs in your network have a chance to complete it.

The last lockdown has of course affected our plans for in-person events, and the SBC Annual Council Meeting, Climate Leaders Coalition Third Anniversary meeting and the Climate Change and Business Conference have all been affected. We'll look to reschedule those to the coming months once the alert levels have dropped and we can get together safely again.

While getting members together is one of our favorite things, we are working on other arrangements to get news out there and make sure we can stay connected including the popular Friday drop-ins. The first one of these is this Friday at 12pm and we look forward to seeing youthere.

As per usual, we'll keep you updated in Pānui and send you more information about the Emissions Reduction Plan as soon as we have it.

Take care out there in your bubbles, kia kaha.
